One Community Action recognizes that we stand together “Por Vida – For Life.” OCA envisions a vibrant community, safe from violence, committed to our youth and each other, with culturally competent institutions supporting equity and access for all. 

​POR VIDA is a culturally responsive youth development and family support program of One Community Action working in school districts and other institutions in Santa Barbara County to promote youth wellbeing and achievement. Por Vida provides wrap-around services through case management, group facilitation, opportunities to get more involved in school and community, and peer-to-peer network support. Por Vida helps to address gaps in service, eliminates barriers to access, and provide a valuable feedback loop to institutions working to advance racial equity.

After participating in Por Vida, youth have increased pride and a greater sense of belonging!! For those who really commit to the program, we see improvements in grades, credit completion, and attendance... with strong graduation rates -- 100% of Por Vida seniors graduated in the 2021-2022 school year!!
